Post Graduate Diploma in Education (Early Childhood)
‘Exemplary’ teacher classification under VECTAA
Four Year Old Program Teacher & Pinemont Director
Hi, my name is Rochelle Brown and I joined the Pinemont team in 2012. I am currently the Director and 4 year old teacher of the Joeys group.
I graduated from The University of Melbourne School of Early Childhood in 1991 and have also completed my Post Graduated Diploma in Education in 2012 and in 2018 gained an ”exemplary” teacher classification under VECTAA.
I have a genuine love for Early Childhood Education and young children. My great passion is to encourage tomorrow’s leaders to discover learning with excitement and wonder. It is through caring engagement, child led and play based learning opportunities that this can be fostered.
My aim is to empower, inspire and equip our learners with the skills and the curiosity to be independent lifelong learners.
Outside of kinder my 3 teenage daughters keep my husband and I very busy! We try to get away camping as much as we can, supporting our children with their netball interest and part time jobs make it a busy time for us!
I look forward to meeting you and your child when you come to Pinemont.
Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
Four Year Old Program Co-Educator and After Kinder Care Leader
In 2007 I began working at Pinemont Pre-School as Gumnuts Leader.
which was a program that ran on Wednesday afternoons for those
interested in Music, Dance and Drama.
The opportunity to be involved in the three year old kinder program
came the following year . My hours increased as I have worked as an
Additional Aide at Pinemont. I am currently the 4 year old Co-
Educator. And the After Kinder Care Leader .
We explore together, with musical instruments, dance, movement, drama, and imaginary play which is such a valuable part of early childhood. All these experiences assist in their social/emotional development.
I have completed my Diploma in Early Childhood Education,
and am married with four adult/teenage children,( 1 girl and 3 boys ). And I recently became a grandma – this keeps me very busy.
I love spending time with family/friends, cooking especially for special
occasions, being creative, going to the beach, music, dancing , FACE
PAINTING , watching movies, going to cafes with friends. I’d like to
travel more and share my adventures with our Joeys.
I thoroughly enjoy being part of the Pinemont teaching team and look
meeting you when you come to Pinemont Pre-School!
Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood)
First class Honours
Three Year Old Program Teacher
Hi! my name is Emily and I am the 3 Year-Old teacher of the Koalas & Possums. I also teach on one of the Four year old Joeys days and am an assistant educator in the Joeys on the other days as well.
I graduated from RMIT in 2016 with a Bachelor in Early Childhood Education. I believe that warm, exciting environments encourage children to learn and get involved in the program, so I work my hardest to build strong relationships with children and get to know them so that they are given the best opportunity to thrive during their time at kindergarten. I believe that the most important skills a child can learn are those “life skills” that relate to their social and emotional development. I am passionate about nature play and believe that connecting to nature is very important for a child’s wellbeing and development.
Outside of kinder, I enjoy spending time with my friends, family and crazy dog Zara. I love to travel, cook, go out for dinner, do a bit of yoga and go walking.
I look forward to meeting you at Pinemont!
